Stenciling

In my 2D Concepts class we have been working on using and making stencils. This stencil is one that I chose to do on my own over a weekend. Here are some pictures of what was made that day!

In-class drawings.

This week I am posting all of the drawings we have done in class so far! They will be in order from my oldest drawings to my most recent drawings. I hope you enjoy!

Working on thumbnail drawings.

More thumbnail drawings.

This drawing took 45 min.

This drawing only took 15 min after the first one!

We were working on outlines and silhouette drawings throughout here.

This is my most recent drawing and was just finished today. In this drawing we were working on 1 point perspective drawings.

Now showing: Artist of the...week.

This week I thought I would try something new by introducing an "artist of the week." This week's artist is one of my favorite street artists who goes by the name of "Banksy." Banksy is known for putting up large works all over with great daring and political meaning. He first started producing art on the British underground scene, but has since moved up to doing stenciling all over the world. His identity is completely unknown, which makes his work even more intriguing. To give you an idea of his work, he once snuck into the London Zoo and painted “I want out. This place is too cold. Keeper smells. Boring, boring, boring.” on the inside of the elephant pen.

Not much is known about Banksy, so not much can be said. For now, I will leave you with a few words and quite a few more pictures.

“I originally set out to try and save the world, but now I’m not sure I like it enough.” -Banksy
